Who (or What) Am I?

Bucky defined himself as a pattern integrity. Still, we wonder, "Who am I?" The question has been asked endlessly, and it continues to haunt our consciousness. Bucky Fuller was no different than most humans in that regard. He, too, sought answers to who he was and why he was put on Earth. The difference between Bucky and most other people was that he spent years consciously addressing these questions and came up with clear answers that can now be of help to us all.

As with all his experiments, Bucky first looked to himself for explanations, and, after years of inquiry and investigation he came to the same conclusions known to spiritual elders since the dawn of recorded history - we humans are much more than our physical bodies. Bucky often enjoyed saying, "he was not yesterday's breakfast," explaining that his physical body was simply the composite of the elements he had eaten over the past few weeks. This is not life. This is simply physical matter, and, although we require it for interacting with other beings that are also operating in the physical, it does not come close to answering the question, "Who am I?"

That dilemma moved Fuller to look much deeper where he discovered a response that bridges the gap between physics and biology as well as between science and spirit. Bucky unearthed a phenomenon he labeled "pattern integrity." Pattern integrity may not yet be as well known as the popular phenomenon of synergy that Bucky also moved into the public spotlight. It is, however, as significant as synergy and probably more important to our understanding of the unique interaction of all aspects of our existence, be they visible or invisible.

The concept of pattern integrity provides unique explanations of the eternal soul and reincarnation within the context of structure, engineering and science. It can be used to help those of us who are extremely influenced by our minds to appreciate the possibility that there might be more to life and consciousness than what we experience with our physical senses. It also begins to help us understand the importance of the enormous non-physical reality.

Pattern integrity provides a more complete explanation of how each of us can be so different yet, as a species, we are extremely similar to one another. The patterns around which physical matter coalesces to form our physical bodies are very similar, but each pattern is so complex that there is plenty of room for diversity. That diversity is what makes our global culture so interesting with such a huge potential for learning from others.

Only the non-physical or metaphysical entities can be pattern integrities. Bucky took this concept many steps farther when he explained that a pattern integrity is eternal. The pattern integrity continues to exist and hold its shape no matter what occurs. At times, a pattern integrity may draw physical matter to it, thereby creating a physical form. Those forms are most often recognizable and interesting to us when we believe them to be "alive."

In truth, every physical aspect of our reality is the result of matter crystallizing around a pattern integrity. We tend to be most interest in those forms most like ourselves, so we relate more fully to another person than to a bird. We believe the bird to be more alive than a rock, so we relate more fully to the bird than the rock.

The reality of our physical existence is that every aspect has formed around a pattern integrity and is therefore alive. Most humans just don't recognize the living nature of rocks or buildings or rivers, but it exists. This was not always the case. Cultures that revered Nature as Fuller learned to do, saw life and wisdom in everything. They talked to flowers and trees and listened to the replies. Hence, they were told which herb would cure and which would kill.

The more complex pattern integrity known as human beings was Bucky's primary focus when he discussed this phenomenon. He would explain that we are each a unique patter than will hold it shape regardless of external circumstances. This is not always true of the physical manifestation of that pattern integrity that most of us believe to be who we are.

We are not, however, yesterday's breakfast. We are much more than the sum of the food, air and water we consume and transform into cells of our bodies. We are eternal patterns that have gathered material elements around us so that we may play in the game of life on Planet Earth. A pattern integrity has integrity because it always maintains its shape.

To discern the true intent of an intuitive message, one need only do what Bucky did - listen closely, observe and determine how the information resonates with you and your personal experience. Messages come in numerous forms. Some people hear their guides or intuition speaking to them. Others see pictures in their minds or have vivid dreams. Still others notice every phenomena around them and garner information from what they see.

Pattern integrity, non-physical beings do all that they can to guide and teach us. Bucky constantly whispers into the ear of many people. Most people dismiss such communication as the ramblings of their imaginations because they are brainwashed by the teachings of physical culture based societies.

Bucky was very clear that each of us is a complex of patterns or processes that has integrity and holds its shape. These patterns and processes are constantly active. They continue whether or not they have chosen to coalesce physical matter in the form of a human body or not. One of the most critical actions we can take as individuals is learning to be aware of and learn from the pattern integrity souls that have no physical form.
